OCTOPUS is a local gay social group based around the east side of London and the Essex borders.
The group has been in existence for over 25 years and one of its main purposes is to offer friendship and regular social activities for gay people in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Regular social activities include weekly social events, occasional parties, theme nights and barbecues, which are always held in the homes of members. We also organise occasional days out.
Our social events provide an opportunity for gay people to meet, make friends with others, obtain mutual help and exchange information and experiences. We don't compete with the commercial scene, but feel that we are complementary to it.
We meet weekly in a very friendly atmosphere, and nearly always in the homes of our members; the host provides light refreshments and tea, coffee or soft drinks. We publish a bi-monthly newsletter and a diary sheet that lists our social events.
Although we are based on the east side of London, we have members in various parts of the capital and, indeed, the whole of the UK. The group is supported by a regular membership. Why not come along and see if this is for you? You will be assured of a warm welcome.
